Three things that stand out about the brand-new 2025 Volkswagen ID.7

Introduced this week, the new 2025 Volkswagen ID.7 is the latest fully electric Volkswagen vehicle, arriving with advanced technologies and a modern electric architecture that will provide plenty of range while also delivering significant performance. The new ID.7 will join the current Volkswagen ID.4 and the upcoming Volkswagen ID. Buzz in the VW EV lineup next year. Here we take a look at three things that stand out about the new Volkswagen ID.7 electric vehicle based on the information that we have today. Although VW did not provide all of the details on the new ID.7, there is enough to get a good idea of what this latest electric vehicle will offer and more importantly, there is enough here to get very excited about the new ID.7.

Range and performance

The 2025 Volkswagen ID.7 will feature a standard 77-kWh battery pack which it shares with the ID.4. Although official range numbers from the EPA are not out yet, Volkswagen says the ID.7 has 600 km of range on the WLTP cycle. This means we can expect over 500 km of range in the most capable ID.7 versions. Volkswagen also says a larger 86-kWh battery will be offered eventually, which should provide even more electric freedom.

In terms of performance, the ID.7 will feature both RWD and all-wheel-drive variants. The rear-wheel-drive models will feature a single motor on the rear axle, like the ID.4, which will deliver 282 hp, enough to reach 100 km/h in around 5.0 seconds according to Volkswagen. The AWD version's specs haven't been announced, but it wouldn't be surprising to see the additional electric motor on the front axle push the total horsepower numbers to over 375 or maybe even 400 hp. When we look at what the current Volkswagen ID.4 specs look like, we can expect a significant boost in horsepower in all-wheel-drive ID.7 versions. The RWD ID.4 offers 201 hp while the AWD versions offer 295 hp.

A luxurious and advanced interior

The new 2025 Volkswagen ID.7 will aim to provide a luxurious and refined experience for its owners. The interior features a large centre 15-inch display along with a very elegant overall design. We also immediately notice the slim digital instrument cluster, which is a continuation of the overall dashboard line, which also integrates an advanced climate system. The technology uses electric motors to efficiently distribute airflow across the cabin in order to cool or warm up passengers more effectively than any other EV on the market.

We also expect the versatility of the ID.7 to stand out. The new Volkswagen electric vehicle will feature a rear liftgate which will open to a vast cargo area that is easily accessible and should provide a ton of space. The ID.7 is designed not just to stand out with its electrified powertrain and features, but also its versatility.

A stylish design that sets the bar high in terms of functionality

The Volkswagen ID.7 is about the size of a Volkswagen Passat. The style, however, is all its own and certainly should turn heads for years to come. One of the most distinctive elements of the ID.7 is the aerodynamic design which provides a drag coefficient of just 0.23, making this one of the most aerodynamic models ever created. Distinctive elements like a front light bar and large, distinct wheels, as well as integrated door handles, will create a distinct appearance for the ID.7.

Stay tuned for more information on the latest Volkswagen fully electric vehicle which will arrive on the market next year.
